aug27,26 – reaching out

now that reddd dot net is up in full force, and my current projects are under control, i’m starting to branch out.

the Instagram has been a point of contention. Much like streaming, i hate what it does to me. watching numbers, taking things personal, overanalyzing shit, it’s annoying. but it was going okay. Then some weird shit happened with a rapper I thought I was cool with and it makes me feel weird.

it had me thinking i wanted to take the IG down and stay on this site, but that feels like a defeat, especially because of the content IG has been inspiring me to make and some of the unique thoughts I get from this format.

However, the biggest benefit to IG is being able to reach out to artists, comment on their posts, and interact with them with them being able to access my content straight up rather than the layers it takes to get there via the site.

It’s kind of ironing out where the website is the place to fully immerse, but the IG is a nice little way to window shop my content.

I realized there’s a lot of artists I’ve been following for years that I really want to collab with, and I’d like to think if they heard any 4 bars on the page they’d immediately catch the drift.

Problem left is that 40 followers I mentioned earlier. A collaborator might see my page at first glance and immediately tune out as there’s no audience benefit for them by collaborating with my platform when it’s this small. They don’t know the resume, the history, etc that someone reading this might, and they aren’t aware of how deep the catalog goes.

I’m of strong belief that if I notice things in someone’s content on a microscopic level that I realllllly fuck with, that there is plenty more in common. So as much as a collaboration is about knowing we can both pull sumn dope out of each other, it’s also about that interpersonal connection over the course of the collab that can forge friendships or partnerships, or even just some novel concepts or quotes that we keep post project.

Idk. Big day today. Good morning y’all
